CATTLE PRICES ALSO RECEDE ADDINGTON STOCK SALE [Pra United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, March 13. Another heavy entry of breeding ewls at Addington to-day met with a changed market from that of last week, when there was a particularly free sale. To-day, except for strong-woolled eves, the progressive advances of last week s fairs were lost, particularly-for-old.fine wool ewes which were most difficult to auit. The lack of rain and. the increasing scarcity of■ feed, are preventing farmers from operating. Best twotooth Chatham Island Romneys made to 38s. Local fine wool sound mouth ewes made to 14s 6d, and many older sorts sold at, from 5s to is. The passings were heavy. ■ Fat sheep were in over-supply. Best sorts changed little in value, but export ewes were down by Is fid. company buyers operating restrictedly. Good! prime wethers made from 25s to 28s, with tops to 31s fid, good ewes 21s to 23s fid with tops to 265. and export ewes from 11a to 14s. The penning coiriprised 7,500 head. Fat cattle were in over supply, 620 being penned, mostly of very ordinary class. Good cattle were back by up to 15s a head, and all others by more than 20s. Good steers made from £l4 to £l6, tops to £l7 10s, medium £l2 10s to £l3 10s, and light down to £8 10s. Best heifers sold from £9 10s to £l2, and cows at from: £9 to £lO 10s, with tops to £l4 and light and poor conditioned in large numbers at from £4 15s to £6., Fat pigs showed an improvement of 2s 6d ahead on last week’s sale for porkers. Values ranged from £1 19s fid to. £3‘ls 6d (average price per lb fijd to 7£d) baconers, £3 2s fid to £4 18s 6d (average price per lb 6|d to 7-id).
