DALMORE-PINE HILL AFFAIRS
MEETING OF HSUSEMLOERS* EXECUTIVE
The monthly meeting,of the Executive Committee of the Dalmore-Pina Hill Districts Ratepayers and 'Householders’ Association, was held at Dalmore last evening. The president (Mr C. Mitchell) was in the chair, and also present were Mesdames J. L. Ford, G. Brooks, and' O. Barlow, Messrs R, Knox, J. Millis, V.. .Howard, I. Hodding,. G.. Simpson, F. Brough, A, Qvam, and D. A. Lake. An apology was received from Mr D. L. Ritchie.
The Secretary reported that ’he had written : to the transport manager regarding the bus service to the district, hut had so far received no reply.---Th* secretary’s action was endorsed. Arrangements were completed for a full canvass of the district to .secure membership, the opinion being expressed that considerable support would be forthcoming.. Mrs Ford mentioned several .improvements, necessary .at Pine Hill, and it was decided to communicate with the corporation departments; concerned with a view to having ,the ' work carried out. —Mrs Brooks said that the' bus stop at Fortune street necessitated passengers alighting from and hoarding the bus in the middle of a tangle-of long grass and deep metal,, and the secretary was instructed to write to the transport 1 manager requesting that the bus stop should he at the edge of the asphalt pavement. Several other matters wore noted for future discussion, and accounts amounting to £1 6s 6d were passed for payment.
