TARANAKI TOURISTS MATCHES IN SOUTH CANTERBURY [Pan United Press Association.] TIMARU, March 13. Two matches were played at Timarn to-day by the touring Taranaki bowlers. In the morning they met the South Canterbury (players who toured the North Island two years ago, the local players winning by 151 points to 140. In the afternoon the visitors played a match with the South Canter bury Centre team and were defeated by 161 points to 134. PORTOBELLO CLUB ONE-DAY FOURS TOURNEY i The Portobello Club will hold a oneday’s, fours tournament on, its green on Saturday.'Sixteen rinks will take part, play commencing at 8.45 a.m. and concluding about 5 p.m. The entry includes 14 visiting rinks and two from 'the local club. Four rounds will be played, and in the event of two or more -rinks tieing with an equal number of wins, the winner will be decided on averages.
