PANAMA CANAL DEFENCES
INSPECTED BY PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT Pres* Association—By Telegraph—Coypright BALBOA (Canai Zone], February 27. (Received February 28, at 12.5 p.m.) President Roosevelt to-day inspected the Pacific defences of the Panama Canal and conferred with the president, Mr Boyd, and the Panama military and naval commanders. He also viewed the progress of -the work on the airfield, costing 23,000,000 dollars. President Roosevelt is returning to an undisclosed United States port.
