(Received February 17, at 10.30 a.m.) Mr Arita told the Parliamentary Committee that, despite the apparent immediate hopelessness, he would not abandon efforts for renewal of the Japanesc-American Treaty, and at present was concentrating on preventing deterioration of relations.
