JAPANESE PEACE FEELER NOTE TO CHINESE GENERALS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, February 14. (Received February 15, at 8 a.m.) The Hongkong correspondent of the Associated Press says the Japanese High Command in South China has sent a “peace note” to Chiang Kai-shek and the Chinese generals urging them carefully to consider whether they should continue to suffer depletion of their fighting forces or seek peace. The Japanese ■ boasted : “Our operations are of unprecedented brilliance and resemble Tamienberg.” The message claimed that they bad killed or wounded thousands recently at Kwangsi, where the Chinese claim that 3,000 Japanese were killed in 72 hours. A message from Hongkong states that Chinese fighters drove off 27 Japanese bombers which were attacking the Hanoi-Kunming railway, shooting down one.
