—Ministerial.— The mayor (Mr A. H. Allen) this morning received advice from the Minister of Public Works (Hon. R. Semple) that his visit to Otago has been cancelled in the meantime. Mr G. R. Ritchie travelled north bji the 11.35 express this morning.. .Mr G. Tapley left this morning -foi| Wellington. At last night’s meeting of the Otago Rugby Football Union the chairman (Mr D. O. Jolly) referred to the death of Mr R. M. Isaacs, an Otago representative player from 1887 to 1892, who had been a member of the Manage* meat Committee of the Otago Rugby; Union from 1895 to 1901. He had later* been'' a member of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby; Union, and was a great administrator; of football. Mr Jolly referred also to the deaths of Mr A. Esqnilant, who had played for Zingari-Richmond andi Alhambra, and had represented Otago from 1889 to 1895, and of Mr E. Mars* lin, who had been a member of tho Vincent Sub-union and was one of tha best-known administrators of football in Central Otago. He also referred to the death of Mr J. M'lntyre, a member; of the Kaikorai Club, who had repre* sented Otago in 1905. Motion of syio* pathy were carried. Mr John Roberts, secretary of tha New Zealand Clothing Trade Workers* Federation , arrived yesterday. spoke to members of tbe Tailoreca’s Union last night, and to-day inspected! clothing factories in the city. To-njghß he will give an, address in Burns Half on conditions in Europe ®s he saw then during a visit last year.
