“ Fresh from the makers comes a new shirt with no buttons,” says a writer in a trade paper. Is he sure it isn’t fresh from the laundry ? Charged with housebreaking, a man pleaded that it was all due to his being absent-minded. A fit of abstraction, so to speak. “ I am too full for words,” said an after-dinner speaker, responding to a toast. And then, of course, went ou to prove that he wasn’t.
