WOMEN'S GAMES

Grange I. 104 for six wickets (A. Gaffaney 60; R. Sew Hoy two for 20) drew with Mornington, as the match was abandoned. Albany 115 for seven wickets declared (L. Johnson 39. I. Stephens 29; R. Skinner three for 33, D. Glover two for 7) defeated K.E.F. 42 (M. Dyke 35; I. Stephens four for 13, L. Johnson one for 5).

IN OTHER CENTRES

WELLINGTON. Heavy rain prevented play in the senior championship on Saturday. The only game continued was that between Hutt and Wellington College Old Boys. After two interruptions, this match resulted in a draw. In reply to Hutt’s total of 195, Old Boys scored 156 for seven wickets (11. Lamason 60, J. Lamason 39, Burnett 21). Bowling for Hutt, Champness took five wickets for 60. As a result of the eighth series ot matches the four leading teams are all in the running for the championship. Kilbirnie are still loading with 31 points. Old Boys have 29, and Hutt and Midland 27 each. AUCKLAND. For the fifth successive Saturday rain interfered with the Auckland championship, only about two hours’ play being possible. Ponsonby-Balmoral scored 81 runs for five wickets against Middlemore. Y.M.C.A. GO for five against Eden, and Parnell 97 for five against University.
