WELLINGTON. Heavy rain prevented play in the senior championship on Saturday. The only game continued was that between Hutt and Wellington College Old Boys. After two interruptions, this match resulted in a draw. In reply to Hutt’s total of 195, Old Boys scored 156 for seven wickets (11. Lamason 60, J. Lamason 39, Burnett 21). Bowling for Hutt, Champness took five wickets for 60. As a result of the eighth series ot matches the four leading teams are all in the running for the championship. For the fifth successive Saturday rain interfered with the Auckland championship, only about two hours’ play being possible. Ponsonby-Balmoral scored 81 runs for five wickets against Middlemore. Y.M.C.A. GO for five against Eden, and Parnell 97 for five against University.
