SCHOOLS’ DAY
FANCY COSTUMES FREE. In connection with the Schools’ Da# at Wingatui racecourse on Tuesday, February 20, the Dunedin Operatic Society have generously offered the free use of fancy costumes. Those in-, terested are invited to call at the Operatic Society’s rooms, above Hannah’s Boot Shop, in George street, between 7.30 and 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Monday, February 13, 15, 16, and 19, and select a costume. A’ feature of this Centennial event will be the fancy dress parade, for which entries are still sought. Further information will gladly be given by the entertainment organiser. Mr E. Griffen, care A. and T. Burt Ltd. Parents are invited to take an active part in the Schools’ Day event at the .Wingatui racecourse on Tuesday, February 20. The many attractions include the Centennial Pierrots, Coimie Potts’s ballet and dancers, the Otago Magical Society, Mr H. M'Lean Eggers (ventriloquist), Boh Shannon’s augmented orchestra. Brass, military, and pipe bands will be in attendance. Community singing will be one of the “ front line ” attractions.
