AFTERMATH W THE GALES ST. HILDA BEACH BAD-BTHERS CBM High winds during the week resulted in heavy seas,: which have not had_tho effect of improving beach conditions locally. St. Kilda, ip particularism an extremely bad state, and even between the flags every possible care must be taken on the part of surfbathers. This morning the breakers were coming in full of sand, and the prospects for pleasant bathing oyer the week-end seemed almost nil. There is. rip running towards the St. Clair, baths and anotheV in : the direction' of St. Kilda, but the beach itself is in good order and is safe, between the flags.. . Conditions at Tomahawk are similar to those at St. Clair, and tjie Fater was reported to be comparatively mild, although temperatures had receded 'em those of former weeks. . There was a very heavy surf at Brighton, and because of this bathert will need to exercise more care than, usual. Otherwise the beach is in perfect condition, the . sand having' been packed firm and level, with all traces of debna removed. ' With the fall in the wind, condition# on all four beaches should be by to-morrow.
