The Douglas air liner Bungana, bound for Perth with 11 passengers and a crew of three, made a forced landing 200 miles north-west of Melbourne/today. .The pilot explained that one engine caught fire at an kltitude of 6,000 ft, and a landing had to be found. The machine was nearing the ground when this engine dropped out of the plane, and the other engine also caught fire. The Bungana landed safely in a wheat paddock, and crashed through a fence. Th& machine was damaged, but nobody was hurt. The passengers, who were thoroughly alarmed, expressed gratitude for the skill of the pilot in bringing them to safety in such sensational circumstances.
