HUNGARY'S STAND ATTACK ON RUMANIA BUDAPEST, February 7. The newspaper ‘ Pester Lloyd ’ prints a Government-inspired attack against Rumania and the Balkan conference. This is not regarded as portending a change in Hungarian foreign policy. It is stated that Hungary never favoured the Balkan-Danube bloc because greater Powers could misinterpret it as an offensive measure, and Hungary could not be expected to join Powers one of which adopted a provocative policy. GERMAN-SOVIET PACT EXCHANGE OF GOODS PROCEEDING BERLIN, February 7. An extensive exchange of goods under the German-Soviet pact is proceeding, covering grain, oil, metals, hemp, flax, and manganese. These are regulated at nine frontier points, at two of which war prisoners are loading German trucks. RAILWAY FRONTIER AGREEMENT BERLIN, February 7. (Received February 8, at 11.35 a.m.) The wireless stated that a RussianGerman railway frontier agreement had been concluded. It provided for special tariffs for the transport of wheat, oil, steel, manganese ore, and other articles, also the use of frontier railway stations by either party. (Received February 8, at 2 p.m.) A delegation from the National Bank and the Ministry of Economy is going to Sofia to negotiate the RumanianBulgarian commercial agreement. PRICES OF YARNS AND FABRICS STATEMENT IN COMMONS LONDON, February 7. (Received February 8, at noon.) Replying in the House of Commons to allegations that uncontrolled prices of yarns and cloths are from 60 to 100 per cent, higher, Dr Burgin said: “ I am not prepared to extend the controlof wool prices. Any action necessary regarding the prices of yarns and fabrics should be taken under legislation concerning the prices of goods in general.” EVACUATION OF BRITONS DEPARTURE FROM RUSSIANISED POLAND BUCHAREST, February 7. Fourteen Britons arrived from Russiauised Poland, of whom one is a South African and three New Zealanders, the latter including Cedric Potocki and his wife. All but one married Polish women, who are now Russian citizens. Thirteen Britons arrived at Odessa, leaving 43 not evacuated.
