MAYFAIR
As two brothers, one happv-go-lucky and irresponsible and the other hardworking and conscientious, Bing Crosby and Fred Mac Murray give outstanding performances in 1 Sing, You Sinners.’ the comedy at the Mayfair. The appeal in this picture lies in its good-natured and unsophisticated presentation of everyday characters. It tells the story of a small-town California family whose principal assets are three sons who can sing, plus an infallible luck at the race tracks. As the ne’er-do-well son, Bing makes so much trouble for his relatives in their home town that he goes away to seek his fortune in Los Angeles, which he is convinced is a field broad enough for his talents. Victor M'Laglen. veteran of a number of “he-man” roles, has the principal part in ‘ Ex-Champ.,’ the supporting film. He has a stern problem to face in this story, the question being which matters, more, his own honour: or that of his child. Tom Brown is seen in the principal featured role.
