ORKNEY AND SHETLAND SOCIETY

The monthly social of the Orkney and Shetland Society was held in Unity Chambers, on Saturday evening. The president (Mr G. Bowick) welcomed visitors from kindred societies and mentioned that the Centennial concert would be held in the Town Hall on February 24. Dancing was interspersed with the following items: Mr R. Wilson, conjuring and sleight-ot hand; Mr Collins, songs—‘ MacGregor’s Gathering,’ and ‘ Scots Wha Ilae,; Mr William Stevenson, sen., ‘ The Sleeping Camp,’ and ‘ A Soldier and a Man ■; Miss Noeline Bauchop, recitations. The winners of the “ Movie Waltz ” were Mrs King and Mr Grant. Mrs Neil Johnston played the accompaniments and the music was supplied by Messrs .Hargreaves and Lynch. Mr William Sabiston was M.C,
