VERANDAHS DEMOLISHED WESTPORT VISITATION [Per United Press Association.] WESTPORT, February 4. Damage to the amount of some hundreds of pounds occurred during a cyclonic storm which crossed Westport from west to east on Saturday morning, carrying off roofs of houses, demolishing verandahs and outbuildings, and knocking over fences. Part of the roof ,of Hunter’s sawmill was lifted, rafters and all, and deposited over the railway 20 chains distant. Mr Herbert Platts, a retired captain, lost a glasshouse and an outhouse, the damage being estimated at £l5O. Fortunately, no one was injured.
