HEALTHY RECRUITING
48 ENLISTMENTS YESTERDAY DETACHMENTS FOR CAMP Volunteers for military service, for training in the North Island camps of Papakura and Ngaruawahia, left this morning by the express for the north. These men have been drafted to artillery regiments or to various mechanised units. To-morrow, a small band also journeys north to Treutham camp, while on Friday a fairly big contingent is to leave by the first express for Burnham. The call for volunteers continues to meet with a very gratifying response, enlistments yesterday totalling 48. ihe majority of those offering their servic6S are single men.
