President Roosevelt announced that he will ask Congress in January to extend the Reciprocal Trade Agreement* Act, which expires.on June ;13. At present 20 agreements are effective* three are being negotiated (Argentina* Chile, and Uruguay), and two are being discussed for revision ’’(Cuba and Belgium). The Washington correspondent of'the ‘ New York Times ’ says that undoubtedly the Administration is approaching one of its hardest battles. Partisan opposition is developing and will l>e expressed in the Congress. by increased Republican fotces, aided by Conservative Democrats, . ’
