FOfIBURY PARK CLUB A meeting of the committee of the Forbury Park Trotting Club was held last evening, when there were present Messrs, B. S. Irwin chairman), J, Richardson, A. Todd, D. C. Jolly, T. Fogg, J,’ Trengrove, C.' R, Hadfield, Jas. Blade, Jas. Mitchell, J. M. Samson,. H. Arclibald, and H. Halliday. A statement, of accounts ,in connection with the recent spring meeting showed that a profit of £349 Is 3d was made. The gate receipts totalled £1,104 4s, as compared with £1,249 5s 6cl, race books returned £240 2s 4d, as against £260 17s 6d,; and nomination and acceptance .fees £616 15s, as against £602 5s at the corresponding meeting, last year. Though, there was an increase of £I,BOB handled by the totalisator, the tax paid was £567 12s 7d more than on the last spring meet-, ing. Application for trainers’, riders,’ and drivers’ licenses from J, R. Docherty, arid amateur trainers’ license from Alt'. Gregory were recommended to the Licensing Committee of the Trotting Conference for favourable consideration. ,

Four new members were elected, and one resignation accepted. On the motion of Mr Arch bald it was decided to allocate £4,760, including a gold cup, .for the’ principal race, as stakes for the summer meeting. An amendment by Mi Jolly to reduce the amount io £4,500, was lost. On the motion of Mr Mitchell it was decided to work the totalisator on the “ Forbury Park” system, the Chairman remarking., that it was evidently the best system for the club. On Mr Halliday’s suggestion a recommendation was made to the programme committee that the programme include- a' Free-for-all race, to be run over a mile and three furlongs on the second day, and that the stake for this race be a substantial one.

Messrs Irwin, Black, Fogg, Hadfield, and Halliday Were appointed the Judicial. Committee for the,, summer meeting. ; ... . The question of inviting Lucky Jack to make an attempt, against the mile record was mentioned, and the Chairman explained that he ‘thought it was the wish of the committee that instead of inviting any individual owner or horse to break a, record a purse should be offered, and any owner could advise the club that he' intended to attempt to break the track record. Accounts amounting to £931 2s 3d were passed for payment.
