N.Z. PILOT'S DEATH

SON OF WESTPORT MAYOR [Peb United Press Association.] WESTPORT, November 10. Advice of the death of Pilot-officer Douglas Haig (Roberteon, aged 22. ot the Royal Air Force, m an aeroplane accident on November 8. at Middlesborough, England, has been received by his parents, Mr and Mrs «J. M. Robertson (Westport). No other details were given. , Pilot-officer Robertson was one ot a batch of New Zealand trainees sent to England some 18 months ago, and he had been recently graded to pilot officer. He was a member of a wellknown Westport family, his father having been elected of the town in the recent by-election. Pilot-officer Robertson was very popular in the Duller district, where he was best known for his musical talent and as a swimmer. He was educated at the Westport Technical High School and Nelson College.
