ALL CONVICTIONS FOR FALSE PRETENCES SENTENCED TO TWO YEANS' MFMSMWENT [PBa United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October 27. Two years’ imprisonment was imposed by the magistrate (Mr Stout) on Arthur Jeffrey DilrFaUt (53), & Who pleaded guilty to 15 charges of obtaining money and good* by false pretences with valueless cheques, and also to two charges of obtaining credit by fraud. It waa Durrant’s fifty-third Bppearance i befora the court, according to Detective-ser-geant P. Doyle. He had never departed from the one system of crime, said Mr Doyle, and, strange to say, all bis previous convictions had been, for false 'pretences. On the present offences obtained nearly .£63 in money, 9s 8d in goods, and £l9 ".Ds on credit.
