LEITH VALLEY BUSES.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—A letter in to-night’s ‘ Star , with reference to the Leith Valley- bus 'seemed to me to be answered by- tha manager .in .a. very off-hand way. Does he know that-the'time-table for the bus that leaves Duke, street is on. a post between Duke street and. the George Street School? On it is the information the “ bus leaves here ” (Georgestreet). It does not say round,the corner of the next street. Why is it necessary for a passenger to have to risk being knocked down by. a motor car in attempting to read the notice?. You have to go on the road on account of the notice facing the tram 'line. Why not put the board in Duke street ? Some time ago I had occasion to go to Elgin road, and not being familiar with the district, 1 was told to take the bus to the terminus and to turn,down the second street on the left after leaving the bus. On arriving at the bus stop an Mornington and seeing a bus with a notice .board on it with “ Mornington, Elgin road, Belleknowes,” 1 duly got aboard and off we went. When the bus stopped at the terminus I got out and started off. After wandering round for a while and making inquiries I found I had been landed over in Belleknowes, and had a nice little walk in front of me to get to Elgin road. I wonder if the manager .will tell you I should have gone to the front of the bus and looked at thesign there. I have learned to dothat since.—l am, etc., Note Said. October 26.
