[Pek United Pkess Association.] NEW PLYMOUTH, August 25. Declining to accept a submission that the jury’s verdict was against the weight of evidence or that there were questions of law for the consideration of the Court of Appeal, Mr Justice Reed, in a reserved judgment to-day, refused an application for the retrial of James George Williamson. At a recent session of the Supreme Court Williamson was found guilty of using an instrument with intent to procure a miscarriage, and was .sentenced to reformative detention for two years.
