MOTOR CYCLING
MYSTERY RUN Twenty-five motor cyclists left the club rooms in Moray Place at 2 o’clock for a mystery run. Occasional showers of rain did not mar their enthusiasm, as the competitors followed their leader , to North Taieri via l Mosgiel. There some new and novel tests were carried out. In the first test speedometers were sealed and competitors were asked to ride for half a mile. This tripped up many, and riders were ranged along the road up 1 to three-quarters of a mile distant. After this tyres were deflated, and competitors had to pump them to 201 b pressure. This also proved to be a tricky'test. Some riders lost'points for not knowing their registration number,- and finally a short acceleration test completed an enjoyable run. The results were:—Miss B. Chennells (lost 20 marks, Triumph! 1. T. Holy (lost 35 marks, Royal Enfield) 2. 0. Haggitt (lost 40 marks, Royal Enfield) 3.
