T,O THE EDITOR. Sir,—“ Collective Security,” in his letter is the best exemplification of the well-known legal axiom, “no case, abuse the other side.” Britain never gave Germany that loan; that was only the flapdoodle talk of the Communists —kite-flying. As to Sir John Simon’s income of £40,000, if he did not earn it he would not receive it, and as Chancellor of the Exchequer hb receives £IO,OOO, “ Collective Security’s ” offer to accept a job in the Cabinet at a salary of £SOO must be declined. Mr Chamberlain’s appeasement policy with Czeclio-Slovakia was on account of Britain’s unpreparedness for war at that time.—l am, etc., Equilibrium. . . August 24.
