[Prom Our Oamaku Correspondent.] TRANSPORT LICENSING AUTHORITY. No. 4 District Transport Licensing Authority (Mr V. Raines) gave decisions at Oamaru yesterday in the following Harry More (Herbert) was granted a renewal of goods license for three years. Annie Jane Laurenson (Kakanui) was granted a renewal of goods license for three years and an amendment of license. The goods licenses of Bruce C. M‘William (Hampden), Charles A. Orr (Kakanui), and Waitaki Supply Stores (Kurow) were renewed for three years. Herbert Evatt Furney (Oamaru) was granted an amendment of the Oamaru-Georgetown passenger license. Tha Railway Department was granted a transfer of goods license from G. L, Brown and a renewal of goods license. BLIND INSTITUTE. A total sum of £3O was collected at the Majestic Theatre by members of the Oamaru Rotary Club for the New Zealand Institute for the Blind. HAEREMAI CLUB. The Waiareka -Women’s Institute entertained the St. Paul’s Haeremai Club at St. Paul’s Hall, an excellent programme comprising items by Mesdames M. F. Qualter, Whitaker, Power, G. A. M'Gregor, V. Sutherland, Swinard. Adamson, and Dodds, Misses M. Adamson, J. Laudter, M. Maxwell, W. Thwaites, Cartwright, A, Blair, and J. Corlett, Messrs Aikenhead and Paterson. HOCKEY. At a meeting of the North Otago Men’s Hockey Sub-association, a committee comprising Messrs E. G. Coker and H. M‘Donaid was appointed to interview the master in charge of the Waitaki Junior High School regarding a proposal that the school should enter teams in the sub-association’s' competi. tion. P.W.M.U. At the spring meeting of the Golumba P.W.M.U. the hall was bright with'spring flowers. Mrs W. L. Marsh, presided over a large gathering. Items were given by Mesdames M‘Whirter, Bowman, Macgregor, and K. Familton, and Misses Diehl, B. Butterfield, ard * I. Dawson, and a play, arranged by Mrs R. A. M‘Dowell, was enacted by Mesdames W. J. Davies, E. S. Stubbs, and A. Hamilton. CYCLE STANDS. An experimental cycle stand has been installed by the Oamaru Borough Council in Eden street, and, judging by its success, it is likely that a numher of similar stands will be erected in other streets. ■ LANTERN LECTURE. A lantern lecture on missionary work of the Presbyterian Church, given at the Airedale-Rosebery Hall by the Revs. J. D. Bates (Kurow) and J. Anderson (Papakaio), attracted a good attendance. Mr R. Portis moved the vote of thanks to the speakers.
