PURCHASE OF HOUSE PROPERTIES AGENTS REPORT BRISK BUSINESS If sterling funds overseas are scarce, New Zealand currency is not. There appeared to be a plentiful supply of it for tho purchase of homes, was the opinion of a land and estate agent this morning. There were plenty of buyers about. What was more, he added, they had plenty of money, for the majority were prepared to put down more than the nominal £l5O or £2OO deposit. Which prompted the question: Are people just a little nervous of the general internal situation and are they investing their savings in house properties ? Carrying the investigation_ a little further, the inquirer ascertained from a lady who recently purchased a property and paid cash far it, that she preferred to sink her liquid assets in something tangible rather than leave it in the bank. _ With tho whole world gone mad anything was liable to happen to it there, she said.
