GALLOPS AT RANDWICK

DEFAULTER AND HIGH CASTE SYDNEY, August 22. 'The outstanding gallop at Randwick to-dav was provided by Defaulter and High” Caste, who covered five furlongs on the outside grass track in limn 3sec. Defaulter at the finish was going slightly better than his rival. Both are expected to be in excellent trim for their first engagements at Warwick Farm on Saturday.

Royal Chief came through a six-fur-long gallop in liniu 17sec satisfactorily. The New Zealanders Pearl of Asia and Beauvite ran five furlongs in Imin 4isec, while Beaurepaire and Moorsotis did five in Imin ssec.

Local horses doing well on the tracks are Gold Rod, who looks a picture, St. Constant, Penthides.Telasur, (Buzalong, Reading, and Feminist. Melbourne reports say that Ajax is “ jumping out of his skin ” and training on excellently.
