WRESTLING

M'CREADY AKD WRIGHT TO MEET When wrestling was to he introduced to the English public, Earl M'Cready and Rube Wright were the two exponents of the “ art ” selected, and since their meeting in the Albert Hall in London. Now Zealand wrestling audiences have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity of seeing Wright in action. Wright, the critics said, was paid a compliment in being selected as M'Cready’s opponent in such an impor-

tant engagement, and so well did he acquit himself that the New Zealand Wrestling Union booked him for a tour of the Dominion. Wright’s first important engagement of this tour will be against M'Cready in Dunedin on Monday night, and he should be obliged to perform at the top of his form against such a redoubtable opponent. M'Cready has met with some sterling opposition in recent seasons, and has always come out on top, but the wrestlers themselves state that Wright is a man who measures up to M'Cready both in ability and physique. Although the British Empire champion emerged the winner in the Albert Hall contest, Wright since that time has had further experience in wrestling to rounds in his recent campaign in Australia, so that ho should now be better acquainted with the rules operating in British countries than on the first occasion upon which he was matched with M'Cready.
