ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS

ROAD FATALITIES. Fatal injuries were suffered by a woman cyclist when she came into collision with a motor car at Mount Wellington (Auckland) on Saturday afternoon. The victim was Mrs Charlotte Anne Rogers, aged about 54, of Mount Wellington. The accident occurred about 100yds from her home. Mr William J. Pearce, of Levin, was killed in a motor cycle collision with a car at Paekakariki on Saturday. FOUND SHOT IN BED. A Dargaville Association fnessage states that John Charles Murt, a single man, aged 56 years, whoso farm is about five miles from Tokatoka, was found dead in his bed in his hut late on Saturday evening by his neighbour, Mr R. T. "Mackenzie, a farmer, who called at deceased’s hut at about 5.30 p.m. He saw through the window the deceased lying on the bed, and communicated with the police and the neighbours. The police entered the hut and found deceased lying in bed -with a discharged shotgun alongside his body. Deceased was fully clothed excepting for his boots. At the inquest the district coroner, Mr J. A. M'Lean, found that death was due to gunshot wounds in the head. TWO YOUTHS INJURED. Two youths, Colin Young and Meryin Tree, who live at Maungatua, were riding a motor cycle on the Taieri yesterday afternoon when it collided with a motor car, as a result of which each suffered a fractured limb, the former a right leg and the latter a right arm. i They were admitted to the Hospital at 6.30 p.m. SCHOOLBOY’S SHOULDER DISLOCATED. While playing football on Saturday Rangi Ellison, whose home is at Otakou, a boarder at the Otago Boys’ High, School, suffered a dislocated shoulder and was admitted to the Hospital at 5.30 p.m.
