CLOUDY WITH RAIN The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapauui, Winton, Invercargill, River* ton, Orepuki, Halfuoon Bay An,, extensive system of weak depressions covers the Dominion and Tasman Sea. The situation will probably develop into the westerly type. Forecast: Moderate north-easterly winds, later becoming variable; weather cloudy with intermittent rain developing; temperatures moderate to mild'; sea* slight to moderate, but with a northeasterly swell on the east coast.
