HIGHER PROFIT DIVIDEND HELD AT 10 PER GENT. NEW SUBSIDIARY FORMED W. R. Carpenter and Co. Ltd. show a net profit of £115,281 for the year ended Juno 30, compared with £111,372 for the previous year. Dividend is maintained at 10 per cent., requiring £76,250. Other transfers are £IO,OOO to contingencies account and £2,000 to superannuation. account. The balance corned forward is increased from £36,038 to £63,609. Depreciation charged was £18,512, against £8,767 in 1937-38. During the vcar capital was increased hv 100,000 shares paid to ss, and 10,000 shares paid to £1 were issuhd at a premium of £1 4s 6d per share. The premium of £12,250 was used to reduce the value of investments in subsidiary companies. A new subsidiary, \V. R. Carpenter and Co, (Condon) Ltd., was formed, and the paid-up capital of £IO,OOO was subscribed bv the present company.
