EXTENSIVE TESTS CARRIED DUT MANOEUVRES COMPLETELY SUCCESSFUL Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright ALEXANDRIA, 'August 18. (Received August 19, at 8 a.m.) Extensive land defence tests were carried out, the navy and R.A.F. cooperating with the Egyptian troops. It is reported that the manoeuvres were completely , successful. Large areas were blacked out while warships and R.A.F. planes attempted to bombard towns and harbours. Troops tried unsuccessfully to land.
