Davies and Mrs Davies left by the express to-day, en route to Canton, China, to resume missionary, work. Mr F. E. M'Callum left for Welling-* ton this morning. Mr J. H. Conly returned to Master-* ton to-day. Mr B. Kerr was a passenger by this morning’s express for Christchurch. Sir James and Lady Hutchison, who left Dunedin two months ago on a visit to Australia, returned on Saturday evening. , Mr A. Harris, formerly member for Waitemata, is at present in Dunedin* He will visit Invercargill . before re* turning north. Chief Officer Liavaag, of the Xntare* tic research vessel Wyatt Earp, has left Hobart for Oslo, For four months ha was an inmate of the. Royal Hobart Hospital. His right leg was broken when he was jammed in broken ice in the Antarctic. When the research ship was free from the pack ice, Commander Lincoln Ellsworth made a dash fo? Hobart. It will be 10 months befora Chief Officer Liavaag will have the full use of his leg, but he hopes to go' tp the South Pole again. New arrivals at the City Hotel in-* elude Mr C. G.
