TECHNICAL COLLEGE JUBILEE
COLOURFUL PAGEANTRY Music, mirth, and masquerade characterise the programme to bo presented by the Technical High School during jubilee week, and theatre-goers are promised an unusual treat _ when ‘ Musccna ’ opens at His Majesty’s Theatre on August 10. ‘ Muscena,’ as its name suggests aims at presenting a colourful pageant of tho song, dance, and story of tho past, interspersed by an amusing representation of historical sketches in a humorous, modern setting. ' The varied settings carrj' the audience over a wide range of scene, from the pomp and majesty of ancient Rome to the grace and dignity of tho French court; from the glamour of Persia to the quaint charm of a European peasant village. It aims to present a series of glimpses of the past, each complete m itself, supported by several humorous sketches and gay representations of well-known incidents in history, most ambitious shows produced in Dunedin by a school cast, and it should provide tho audience with an evening full of mirthful entertainment. Incidental music is under tho direction of Dr T. Vernon Griffiths, and
the production in the hands of Mr GcHon Tovev and Mr O. C. Stephens. The traditional jubilee banquet will be held, where ex-pupils will meet to toast their Alma Mater in her loss pretentious days. The banquet comes near to the end of the celebrations, and the committee extends to all friends and ox-pnnils a sincere invitation to cement old friendshins and to snend a few hours in reminiscences and interchange of schoolduy experiences.
