i’ " te- iSAN FRANCISCO, July 20. . William Howard, a former member of the Marine Union, testified that Harry Bridges boasted of his Communist membership in 1936. He also alleged that Bridges packed the union ■ meeting with Communist “ stooges or sympathisers.” .A letter written to the Lewis Committee of the Industrial Organisation was read into the record to-day. It alleged that Bridges not only was a Communist, but placed Communists in key positions in the Pacific coast unions.
