CHANGEABLE WITH RAIN The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Rive<rton, Orepuki, Halfmoon Bay:— A series of shallow westerly depressions is commencing to cross the Dominion. Forecast: Light to moderate but freshening north-westerly winds, with a change to south-west later. Weather changeable, with rain at times, mainly in the west and south. Cool temperatures. Moderate seas on the east coast, becoming rough elsewhere. LOCAL REPORT. Maximum temperature to-day, 42.5 deg. Maximum yesterday (24 hours), 43.4 deg. Minimum to-day, 36deg. Minimum yesterday, 30deg. Light north-easterly breeze. Barometric pressure at 1 p.m., falling at 29.5 in. Frost, 6deg.
