We live as comrades, and as such, if need be, we shall die. There is no longer a British policy or a French policy, but a Franco-Bri-tish policy. England can say to France as France .to England: ‘We have thought the same way, we have reached the same conclusions, and cherish the same ideals. We are friends. We are strong and shall stand together.’ ”•
