VISIT FROM KING AND QUEEN
TOUR OF AUSTRALIA AND HEW ZEALAND LIKELY WAITING FOR INTERNATIONAL SITUATION TO CLEAR GREAT RECEPTION WOULD BE ASSURED Press Association—By Telegraph— Copyright MELBOURNE, May 22. When the international situation has been clarified Australia and New Zealand may receive a visit from the King and Queen. Federal Ministers, expressing delight at a message cabled from Canada that their Majesties hoped soon to visit Australia and New Zealand, said that, had the international situation been easier, the visit would probably have followed the Canadian tour. Serni-officially it is believed here that plans are being prepared for a tour of Australia and New Zealand as soon as it is practicable. The Prime Minister, Mr 111. G. Menzies, assured their Majesties of a marvellous reception in view of the great and growing appreciation of the way in which they combined dignity, friendliness, and enthusiasm in the performance of. their great duties. As Duke and Duchess of York their Majesties officially inaugurated the Federal Parliament at Canberra in 1927.
