UNLIGHTED CORNERS
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —I would like to draw the council's attention to two unlighted street corners in South Dunedin. One is the corner of Richardson street and Prince Albert road coming from town, the other the corner of Queen's Drive and New street. Both these corners are absolutely unlighted, and las a motorist can say they are positively dangerous, since, the headlights of a car only light the road in direct line with the car, so that when swinging round a corner the actual path of a car is in darkness unless lighted by street lights. Several times on these corners I have stopped just in time to avoid a pedestrian right in front of my car, who until almost that instant had been in complete darkness. One light on each of these corners would not cost much, and would certainly save a life sooner or later.—l am, etc. Motokist. May 22.
