WINS FOR GORDON AND JOHNSON [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, May 22. Two professional matches Were fe»tured on the programme under the control of the Auckland : Boxing Association to-night. The first was a lightweight contest between Clarfie Gordon, of Taranaki, and Bert M'Kay, of Auckland, which was won by; Gordon,M‘Ray’s left eyebrow was badly cut in the sixth round, and after medical inspection he was declared unfit to continue, and the decision therefore went to his opponent. • . In the second bout, between th* welter-weights, Don Johnson, of Auckland, and Merv. Willis, of Queensland*, the former won. on joints.
