MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Dunedin branch of the Plunket Society was held on Friday. Those present were.:— Mrs Joseph M'George (in'the chair), Lady Sidey, Mesdarnes Myers, Sandford Cox, Gillon (Taieri), Pratt, Solomon, Caiman, Cunninghame, Cairney, Clegliorn, Allen, Donald Reid, Mandcno, Hanan, Fairmaid (Taieri), and Bruce. Motions of sympathy with Miss Darling in the death of her mother, and with the relatives of the late Mrs Clapperton and of the late Mrs M’Konney (Palmerston) were passed, the committee standing for a few moments in silence. Miss Hilditch, matron of the Truby King-Hairis Hospital, reported that during the month patients had been admitted' from Balclutha, Tapanui, Maelennan, Kelso. Gatlins, Temuka, and from Dunedin and suburbs April saw another term of Plnnket nurses complete training and a further term of 20 nurses admitted. The Charge Plunket Nurse reported that April had been a busy month for the nurses who had rearranged their districts to allow for expansion and readjustment of the areds. Miss Tingay had been appointed as an additional nurse to the Dunedin district cursing staff. During the month the ont-sta-tions visited were:—Outram, Mosgicl. Green island. Abbotsford, Burnside, Port Chalmers, Sawyers Bay, St. Leonards, Burkes, Ravensbourne, Macandrew Bay. Concord. Middleman'll, Waikouaiti, Goodwood, Dunback, Shag Point. Hampden, Moeraki, Kartigi, Seacliff, Kantane, Waitati, Warrington, and Omimi. The visits paid to suburban rooms were:—Roslyn 7, North-east Valley 7, Mornington 7, Anderson’s Bay 7, Cavershain Kindergarten 7. South Dunedin (2 p.ra. and 4 •p.m.) daily, except Saturdays and Sundays. The Palmerston Nursing Horn® and the Middleman'll Hospital were both visited twice. It was agreed that the provincial conference of branches of the society in Otago and Southland he held on July 21 at Dunedin. The branches which constitute this provincial group arc:— Waimate. Oamarn,, Dunedin. Central Otago. West Otago. Milton. Balclutha, Gore, Lumsden, and Invercargill. The hope was expressed that the fullest use would be made of the opportunity which a provincial conference would afford of discussing and facilitating the development of the work, aims, and objects of the societv throughout the district represented by the provincial group The committee received with thanks a cheque from Messrs Duncan and MacGregor for £22A 14s 2d. being amount of legacy to the Dunedin branch of the societv under the will of Mr John Edmond. The Perpetual Trustees. Estate, and Agency Company Ltd. wrote advising that under the will of the Into J D. Calder, of Ratanni. (he society would rereive a legacy of £3OO. of which was lo he devoted to the Trnhy KingHarris Hospital.
