SPACE QUICKLY FILLING
THE CENTENNIAL EXHIBITION
[Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 18, A warning to persons and firms intending to participate in the Centennial Exhibition was uttered to-day by the mayor (Mr T. C. A. Hislop), chairman of directors, after a visit to the site. He said that the space bookings were proceeding steadily; and, if certain negotiations now in train were brought to a successful conclusion, anyone-who had not already booked space would b« left out of the Exhibition, as all available space would be taken up. “ Prospects for the Exhibition are extremely bright,” Mr Hislop said. “ Of course, one bears occasionally foolish rumours put about by stupid and ill-intentioned people and listened to by the credulous An example of such a rumour was the suggestion that the Exhibition was to be postponed. Such an idea has never‘entered the mind of anyone concerned with the Exhibition. One would think the rumour too stupid to receive consideration.”
