EARLY MORNING ARRESTS

SEEK SUMMARY HEARING [Pee United Press Association.] PALMERSTON N., March 6. Hearing a suspicious noise in King street about 3 a.m. to-day, a resident notified the police, and in consequence constables made investigations which resulted in two arrests. This morning Jack Henry Check (20), a shop assistant, and Victor William Kendall (20), a motor driver, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court, charged with breaking and entering by night the of Manning and Coulter, and stealing articles valued at £9 6s 6d. Check was also charged with converting to his own use a motor cycle, valued at £BS.

Both accused asked to be dealt with immediately to get the case “ over and done with,” but on the application of the police, were remanded until March 13.
