A slight earth tremor was felt in Dunedin shortly before 8.45 yesterday morning, but no damage was reported. It was felt in various parts of the city and province, but was not of sufficient violence to be officially recorded. Reports from Central Otago state that .the earthquake was felt there about 9 o’clock, when, although it was of short duration, it was sufficiently violent to cause hanging lights to sway. One resident of the district who has lived there for 40 years, states that during the last six months he has felt more earth tremors than during all the rest of his experience in Central Otago. The North Otago district also reported a slight “ shake ” yesterday morning.
