SCHOOLS UNDER WAY [By Hooker.] The announcement of the Otago Boxing Association that a professional match will be held here on March 13 between Norman Jenkin, of ; Oamaru, and Norman Fishery of .Christchurch, has led to a stir of interest among the amateurs who will be called upon to provide the supporting bouts,'Und Vic. Instruction *' will bo ’ give n'f o n 11 ‘Mo n day a and 'Wednesdays froin fi.4Sp’.m., and Mr Pyster "will' have quite a few boys available for the Otago Boxing Assosication’s first programme if they are required. , George Donaldson, the most promising welter-weight in Otago at the present time, will make.a bold bid! for a provincial title this yeaf. •• Pyster also has two of his brothers, David (a flyweight) and _ Gordon (a strong puncher), who is a. light-weight. Bruce Miller, who also 1 performed well last year, will endeavour to go further in the game. There is no reason why he should not develop into a very useful boxer.

George David is another rugged fighter who won the novice light-weighe class last year, and it will be interesting to see how he shapes against the more experienced! lads in the open class.

Some new pupils in Pyster’s gym. will be Tyler (a brother of Norman Tyler who performed well in. Otago a few years ago), Rosie,- Grey, Kidd, Ikin, M'Kenderick, Devlin, and several other lads who may expect to enter novice competition this season. George Burgess, who was on the sick list last year, may also be looking for fights during the coming season.
