COURT FASHIONS

THEIR MAJESTIES TO INSPECT MODELS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, January 27. (Received January 28, at 8 a.m.) The ‘ Daily Mail ’ says that among the first duties of their Majesties after their (return from Sandringham next week will be to approve of four designs of models of dresses to be worn at the Courts. About 30 drawings will be submitted and will be scrutinised by the King and Queen jointly, the King approving of the final choice, after which the designs will be sent to the West End and Paris designers. It is understood that last year a number of the dresses were too low in the neckline, and aroused official displeasure. Unofficial instructions have already been given attention must be paid to major-details such as the length of the train and the neckline, while low-backed Court gowns are especially restricted. Designers welcome the restrictions, but admit that their clients may have their own views.
