LOWER HUTT HOSPITAL

ERECTION OF FIRST SECTION APPROVED ULTIMATE PLAN FOR 450 BEDS [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, December 21. The Minister of Health has approved the erection of a building to house 150 beds, plus 25 maternity bods, for the first section of the proposed Lower Hutt hospital, and has asked the Wellington Hospftal Board, when preparing the plans, to provide for future extensions. The architects have been instructed to prepare sketch plans for a 400-bed general hospital, pins 50 maternity beds, with all the necessary services, the building not to exceed four stories in height. They also have, been asked to show the most economical way of erecting the block in sections.
