(Received December 20, at 11 a.m.) Nearly 2,000 officers and notables of the Tsarist court pledged loyalty to the Grand Duke Vladimir as the “ Tsar of all the Russias.” Former generals, who are .now taxi drivers, and former countesses, who are now domestic servants and saleswomen, cheered the duke’s declaration that “ we must return to our own country.” The duke, interviewed, denied plans to accept tne Ukrainian throne under Herr Hitler’s domination. [The Grand Duke Vladimir is the son of the Grand Duke Cyril, who became claimant to the Throne on the murder of Nicholas II._ In August, 1922, he proclaimed himself “ Guardian of the Vacant Throne of Russia.” Grand Dulse Cyril died in France on October 12. The new claimant, Vladimir, was bom in 1917 in Finland, when his father was a fugitive in that country.] __________
