MAGISTRATE'S COURT

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 20. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.)] JUDGMENT BY DEFAULT. Judgment for the plaintiffs, with, costs, was given in the following undefended cases:—The Commissioner of Taxes v. Robert George M'Tigue, £2l 4s 9d, taxes owing; A. M‘Kay v. Jamea Scott, £4 18s 6d, balance owing; P. Fraser and Sons v. Arthur G. Renney (Berwick), £1 18s Bd, goods supplied; R. Hannah and Co. Ltd. v. K. Hammond (Christchurch), 11s 9d, goods supplied; Andrew Lees Ltd. v. A. Wilson, 15s 6d, goods supplied and balance owing; T. C. MTnnes v. Kathleen Casey, £4 13s sd, goods supplied. JUDGMENT SUMMONS. Hallenstein Bros. Ltd. proceeded against L. Fowler, claiming £4 7s 4d on a judgment summons. There was no appearance of the judgment debtor, and the Magistrate made an order for the payment of the amount, in default four days’ imprisonment. An order for the payment of £7 I3s 6d, in default eight days’ imprisonment, was made in favour of T. WDobbie, who proceeded against William Gardiner on a judgment summons.The judgment debtor did not appear. Proceeded against by Herbert Edward M'Arthur on a judgment summons, clkiming £1 18s 6d, William Gibson was ordered to pay the amount, in default two days’ imprisonment.
